Who I Am
My name is Corinne Alfeld, and I am the Founder and Principal of Good Reason Consulting, LLC.
I have a Ph.D. in education and psychology from the University of Michigan and 25 years of experience as an education researcher. My most recent role was serving as an Education Research Analyst in the Institute of Education Sciences (IES) U.S. Department of Education for 13 years, where I helped applicants to strengthen their proposals, observed peer review panel discussions, and ensured funded projects proceeded smoothly.
Prior to IES, I worked in university and non-profit settings conducting and reporting on education research. Recently, as a consultant, I have been learning new skills in strategic planning and building tools to coordinate an efficient grant proposal development process. I established Good Reason Consulting to support other researchers and evaluators in building new evidence to improve learning for all students.
I understand research both on classroom teaching and learning as well as on district, state, and national education policies and systems. I am well-versed in multiple research methods and study designs, including mixed methods, and I understand what funders are looking for. I have multiple publications in academic and practitioner journals, reports, briefs, and blog posts; I know how to clearly communicate research findings for a variety of audiences.
I look forward to working with you to improve your proposals and assist with any grant-related tasks you need!
